Smart DND Support

Only enable access for the features you plan to use:

• DND Access controls Android Do Not Disturb.
• Calendar access enables meeting rules.
• Location and background location enable saved-place and keyword-place rules.
• Physical Activity supports motion-aware place refreshes and Driving Mode.
• Notifications show Android’s required ongoing monitoring status.

Android requires an ongoing notification while the foreground monitoring service is running. Smart DND keeps it silent and updates it only when useful. Pausing Smart Engine stops new automatic rule checks; behavior for any current session is explained before you confirm the pause.

New automatic rule checks and activations stop for the selected pause period. Your rules and permissions stay saved. You can pause for 30 minutes, one hour, until tomorrow morning, or until you manually resume.

An enabled rule may still be active, so Smart Engine can re-apply that rule’s selected DND mode. Open Smart DND to check the active rule. If you want automation to stop temporarily, pause Smart Engine; if you no longer want that automation, disable or edit the rule.

Priority mode silences ordinary alerts while allowing the caller category and alarm behavior selected in that rule. You can choose everyone, contacts, starred contacts, or no callers, and separately choose whether alarms may ring.

Smart DND asks Android to use the phone’s own starred-contact category; it does not copy the contact list. Confirm that the caller is starred in the device Contacts app, that the rule uses Priority mode with “Starred,” and that the phone manufacturer’s DND settings allow calls from starred contacts. Some devices also require repeat-caller or SIM-specific settings to be reviewed.

Smart DND tracks the sessions it activates and is designed to restore normal sound only when its own active automation ends. Android and manufacturer behavior can still affect the final DND state if another app or system routine changes it at the same time.

• Turn on device Location.
• Allow precise and background location for Smart DND.
• Allow Physical Activity if the rule uses automatic keyword discovery.
• Confirm Smart Engine and the specific rule are enabled.
• Check the saved point, keywords, and radius; increase the radius if GPS is weak indoors.
• Remove aggressive battery restrictions for Smart DND if your manufacturer delays background events.

Android geofence timing is managed by the operating system, so entry or exit may not be instantaneous on every device.

No. Place rules primarily use Android geofences. Nearby-place planning refreshes after meaningful movement, and Driving Mode uses bounded speed checks after movement signals. GPS remains off between those checks unless another app or system service is using it.

Yes, when Android reports that you have left the active rule’s radius and no other enabled rule still requires DND. Location accuracy, device power saving, and signal conditions can affect how quickly an exit event arrives.

Android movement signals tell Smart DND when a driving check may be useful. The App then takes brief GPS speed samples to confirm movement and periodically checks for the end of the drive. This balances timely detection with battery use.

Open Smart DND Settings and confirm Calendar permission is granted. Also make sure the calendar is enabled and synced in your phone’s calendar app. Return to Smart DND and refresh. The App reads device-visible calendars; it does not sign in to Google or other calendar providers itself.

Yes. Create custom calendar, location, schedule, or driving rules. Tap an existing rule to edit it, use its switch to enable or disable it, and use the three-dot menu to delete it. Place-rule keywords can be added or removed by the user.

Smart DND has no user account or Vianex cloud record. To remove all locally stored rules and activity, use Android Settings → Apps → Smart DND → Storage → Clear data, or uninstall the App. To remove one rule only, delete it from the rule menu.

Saved schedules, calendar processing, Android DND control, and previously prepared geofences can continue locally. Internet is needed when the App must search OpenStreetMap services for new nearby places or refresh place names.
